Old Dominion Lacrosse Hosts Temple On Saturday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team gets back into American Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Apr. 15 when they play host to the Temple Owls starting at 12 p.m. 
 
ODU fell to Virginia Tech on Tuesday, 8-4, four different Monarchs scored in the loss. Multiple players also moved into the top 10 single season program record book. Caroline Shaefer is tied for second in career draw controls at 173 and is number 8 in draw controls for a season with 44. In 2022 Shaefer had 68 draw controls which is good for second all-time in program single season history. Jenna Peccia also entered the top 10 for ground balls in a season. Peccia is tied for sixth in program history with 52 ground balls. 
 
Leading ODU offensively is Sydney Taylor who has a team-high 27 points, eight assists and is tied with Danielle Dundas with 19 goals. Defensively Maria Rekus leads the team with 26 caused turnovers, Peccia also leads all goalies with 127 saves on the season. 
 
Temple is coming off a 10-9 loss in double overtime against Drexel on Tuesday. Camryn Zavacky scored three goals in the loss for the Owls. Belle Mastropietro leads the Owls with 46 points and 31 goals. Mackenzie Roth leads the team with 16 assists. 
 
Temple leads the series 8-3 and defeated ODU last season 17-7 in Philadelphia.
