JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The Old Dominion women's golf team will play in the Briar's Creek Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, hosted by College of Charleston at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek. The course features a par of 72 and a total yardage of 6,152.

In addition to ODU and the host Cougars, the field will include lineups from Boston College, Campbell, No. 20 Central Florida, East Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, No. 35 Maryland, Miami (Fla.), No. 48 NC State, No. 36 Nebraska, North Florida, Penn State, Rutgers and No. 30 SMU.

"Briar's Creek is a special place and a tough test of golf," said head coach Mallory Kane. "We love getting the opportunity to play in such a great event. We hope all of our recent hard work will pay off."

Monday will begin with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start with 36 holes of continuous play. The field will conclude with the final round on Tuesday, also set for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. ODU will tee off from holes 10-13 for the first day.

Not counting 2020 when the tournament was canceled, this will be the fifth straight year the Monarchs will compete in the Invitational. ODU has posted three Top-10 finishes in that span, to include tying for fourth place back in 2019 with a 54-hole total of 877 (+13).

Leah Onosato, then a freshman, came in at one-under par with a 215 to tie for eighth, earning her first career Top-10 finish. She was two-under for all par 3's for the tournament. Sana Tufail was two strokes back of Onosato and tied for 14th with a one-over tally of 215. The Monarchs, ranked No. 39 at the time, finished ahead of No. 20 Furman, No. 22 Clemson, No. 45 ECU, No. 27 Illinois and No. 50 Penn State.
