NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University men's golf head coach Murray Rudisill announced the addition of Philip Minnehan on Thursday. Minnehan will join the Monarchs for the 2022-23 season and has three years of eligibility.

"We are pleased to announce the signing of Philip Minnehan, a transfer from Towson University, who had an outstanding freshman year as a student and a golfer at Towson," Rudisill said. "Phillip is the brother of a current member of the ODU team, Michael Minnehan. It will be the first time in ODU golf history that we had two brothers on the team at the same time. Philip will make an immediate impact on the team and will hopefully jump into the starting lineup right away."

In 31 rounds as a freshman at Towson, Minnehan had a 75.61 stroke average with three top-20 finishes. He posted a season-best fourth place finish at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate. He joins his brother Michael, who will be a senior on the team this season.

"I am very excited to come to ODU. I think the resources that the program has to offer as well as all of the knowledge and experience that Coach Rudisill and Coach (Barry) Marple possess should really help me develop as a play," Philip Minnehan said. "I hope to make an immediate impact in the fall."
