NEW ORLEANS – Senior guard Tyreek Scott-Grayson was selected the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Brick, N.J., Scott-Grayson matched his career high with 30 points and hit a career-best six 3-pointers as Old Dominion defeated George Mason 78-77 on December 21. He hit three straight 3-pointers in a 14-4 run early in the second half that helped propel the Monarchs to a lead. The six 3-pointers match the most by a Sun Belt Conference player this season.
On the year, Scott-Grayson is second on the team in scoring (12.9 ppg), assists (33), steals (13) and third in rebounding (4.8 rpg). His 30-point outing gave him 1,000 points for his collegiate career.
Old Dominion (8-4) will start Sun Belt Conference play on Thursday night hosting Arkansas State (8-5) at 7 p.m. inside Chartway Arena.
