ELON, N.C. – The Old Dominion women's basketball team continues its road swing this Tuesday when the Monarchs meet Elon for a 2 p.m. game at Schar Center.
 
The game will be streamed on FloSports and fans can also tune into the ODU Sports Radio Network to hear Matthew Hatfield call the game. Live stats will also be available.
 
The Series
Tuesday's game marks the first meeting between the two programs.
 
About ODU
The Monarchs (2-2) played at Xavier this past Saturday, falling to the Musketeers 65-49 at Cintas Center. ODU quickly found itself trailing 8-0 at the start of the game and later cut the Xavier lead to 33-23 as Jatyjia Jones connected from distance with 33 seconds left in the opening half. However, the hosts hit a late three-pointer for the 36-23 halftime lead and the Monarchs were unable to put together a significant run until the fourth quarter. Amari Young led ODU in the loss with seven points, five rebounds, one assist and a block. Makayla DickensKaye ClarkBrianna JacksonAlthea Kara Angeles and Taleah Washington all finished with five points.
 
Jordan McLaughlin is ODU's current scoring leader at 41 points and 10.3 points per game and also owns a team-best 13 assists. Clark is next with 38 points (9.5 points per game) and Dickens is third with 31 (10.3 per game). Jackson and Young have pulled down 25 and 23 rebounds, respectively. Through games played on Nov. 20, Clark ranks seventh nationally in steals per game (4.25) and 10th in total steals (17). Young has blocked four shots this season and Clark is right behind her with three blocks.
 
As a team, ODU owns a +1.8 scoring margin and is shooting .348 from the floor, .269 from beyond the arc and .558 at the free-throw line. The Monarchs enter Tuesday's game ranked 20th in the country in steals per game (13.2), 25th in turnovers forced per game (24.00), and 32nd in free throw attempts per game (23.75).
  
About Elon
The Phoenix (2-2) opened its season with a 76-56 loss at Wake Forest on Nov. 7, then fell 89-55 at NC State on Nov. 10. However, the maroon and gold has strung together a pair of home victories as Elon beat High Point 60-57 on Nov. 13 before topping UNC Greensboro 75-58 on Nov. 19. In the win over the Spartans, Vanessa Taylor went 5-for-7 from the field to finish with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal. Also scoring in double digits were Lenaejha Evans (13 points), Kamryn Doty (11) and Bria Harmon (10).

Evonna McGill leads the Phoenix with 10.5 points per outing. Lenaejha Evans is next with a 9.5 scoring average and Kamryn Doty is third at 7.5 points per contest. Ajia James (4.5 points per game) has made a team-high five three-pointers and Doty is tops in assists with seven. On the glass, Raven Preston is averaging 7.0 rebounds per game and McGill follows with 5.8 per game. Doty and Preston have combined for 11 steals, and Preston and Aly Wadkovsky have recorded two blocks each.
 
The Phoenix has been outscored by an average of 8.5 points. Elon is shooting a combined .418 from the field, .346 from long range and .698 at the charity stripe. Elon has also committed 78 turnovers, their 19.5 turnovers per game ranking them 276th nationally.
 
Elon was picked to finish fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association's Preseason Coaches' Poll and McGill represented the team on the Preseason All-CAA Second Team. The Phoenix finished 17-12 last season and 9-9 against CAA opponents.
 
Elon has seven returners and seven newcomers and brings back just one starter from a year ago. Returning for the Phoenix are guards Bria Harmon, Doty, Diamond Monroe, and Taylor; forwards James and Maya Johnson; and center McGill. Newcomers include guards Regina Walton, Preston, Ruby Williard, Chloe Williams and Evans; center Wadkovsky; and center/forward Hannah Dereje.

Men's basketball season tickets cost $215 and include tickets for the Monarchs' exhibition on Nov. 2 and all 16 of ODU's regular season home games. Women's basketball season tickets cost $115 for adults and $250 for courtside seating and include tickets to all 15 of the Monarchs' home games. Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game tickets for regular season men's and women's basketball games will go on sale later in the month. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
