NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's basketball team has its home opener this Tuesday when the Monarchs host William & Mary for a 6:30 p.m. game at Chartway Arena.
 
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Chip Tarkenton and Kim Aston on the call. Fans can also tune into the ODU Sports Radio Network to hear Matthew Hatfield and Susan Montgomery. Live stats will also be available.
 
The Series
Tuesday's game marks the 69th meeting between the two programs. ODU holds a 61-7 lead in the all-time series and is looking for its fifth-straight victory against the Tribe. The teams met on Dec. 15 in Williamsburg, Virginia last season, a game that went to ODU 68-55. Ajah Wayne scored 24 points as the Monarchs shot 26-for-61 (.426) from the field, 11-for-16 (.688) at the free-throw line and scored 22 points off 29 W&M turnovers.
 
About ODU
The Monarchs (1-1) earned their first win of the season last Thursday at Texas Southern as ODU defeated the Tigers 75-49 at H&PE Arena in Houston, Texas. Kaye Clark set new career highs with 18 points and nine steals, adding four rebounds, two assists and one block to her totals. Jordan McLaughlin followed with 12 points, five assists, one rebound and a steal. The Monarchs scored 11-straight points to open the game and led from wire-to-wire. With the win, ODU improved to 4-0 all-time against SWAC schools.
 
Clark leads the team in scoring with 28 points (14.0 per game) and currently ranks third nationally in steals per game (6.50) and sixth nationally in steals (13). McKayla Dickens and McLaughlin are both at 26 points, Brianna Jackson has 12 and Amari Young 11. Dickens and Clark have combined to make seven three-pointers. On the glass, ODU has three players with double-digit rebounds: Jackson leads the way with 14, Jada Duckett is right behind her with 13, and Young is next with 11.
 
As a team, the Monarchs are shooting 37.0 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 70.5 percent at the free-throw line. ODU is also third in the Sun Belt with 3.5 blocks per game and fourth with 14.5 steals per game.
  
About William & Mary
The Tribe (2-0) is in its first year under new head coach Erin Dickerson Davis. W&M opened its season with a 79-64 home win over Navy last Monday, then earned a 66-61 overtime win at VCU on Friday. After coughing up a 10-point lead to the Rams over the final seven and a half minutes of regulation, W&M opened the extra period with a 10-4 run and never looked back. Riley Casey netted 25 points, to include a game-tying bucket with 0.6 second remaining to force extra time. Sydney Wagner chipped in 16 points and Madison Magee finished with 11 points.
 
Casey has a team-high 45 points (22.5 per game) and has the hot hand from distance, shooting 7-for-13 (.538) from beyond the arc. Next is Wagner with 29 points and Bre Bellamy is up to 18 points. Bellamy is the leader in rebounds with 16 (8.0 per game) while Wagner has collected a team-best six steals.
 
Collectively, the Tribe is shooting 39.7 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from long-range and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe. W&M leads the CAA with 7.5 three-pointers per contest and is second in free throws made per game (15.00) and turnovers per game (12.5). After finishing 10-20 overall and 5-13 in league play last season, the Tribe was picked to finish seventh in the CAA as Casey and Wagner were named to the Preseason All-CAA First Team.

Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game tickets for regular season men's and women's basketball games will go on sale later in the month. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
