NORFOLK, Va. – Playing in their regular season finale, the Old Dominion women's soccer team put up a pair of goals in a near four-minute span of the first half and held off a second half run by Marshall to take a 2-1 win on Thursday night.

Old Dominion (7-8-2, 5-4-1) opened the contest on the offensive putting pressure all over the Marshall attack. Anna Torslov served a pass into the box and found Megan Watts who tapped it in for the first Monarch goal at the 5:11 mark.

The Monarchs kept attacking the net and found a second tally at the 9:04 mark as Ece Turkoglu found Riley Kennett who put it in for the 2-0 ODU advantage.

Old Dominion held a 6-2 advantage in shots in the first half, but Marshall turned the tables for a stretch of the second half and tallied their goal. Morgan White came down the left side and found Makai Laguines in front of the net who tapped it in at 69:24 to trim the ODU lead to 2-1.

The Monarchs held the Herd at bay for the final 20 minutes as they finished with a 9-6 advantage in shots, and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Old Dominion will be the sixth seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament and will face third-seeded Arkansas State on Wednesday at noon EST in Foley, Alabama. These teams played on October 20 with Arkansas State escaping with a 1-0 win.
