NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's tennis team learned on Wednesday evening that the doubles tandem of Younes Lalami and Brandon Perez earned an at-large bid to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fall Nationals in San Diego starting November 2.
Lalami and Perez have compiled a 7-1 record this fall and made the semifinals of the ITA Atlantic Regional last weekend in Charlottesville. In that event, they defeated the ninth-ranked duo from the University of Virginia to advance to the semifinals. They went 3-1 in the event last week including wins over Liberty and Virginia Tech.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that the men's team has had a representative in the ITA Fall Nationals.
"I am very happy for Younes and Brandon to make the event. Going 7-1 with a top 10 win is an elite fall resume. I am excited for them to show what they can do on the national level," said head coach Dominik Mueller.
The event will be held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, where 32 singles players and 32 doubles teams will participate in the men's championships. For more information – click here
