BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Old Dominion Field Hockey senior Courtney Lynch was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior Team, the NFHCA announced Thursday.
Lynch was one of 38 players to earn the honor bestowed by the NFHCA.
"Courtney has had an excellent college field hockey career and is deserving of this recognition. She made a significant contribution at JMU, as we know from playing against her in previous years," said Head Coach Andrew Griffiths. "But in her short time at ODU, she has worked extremely hard and become an integral part of our midfield and our team. She brings intensity, energy and experience to our performances, and we are proud to have another local player make an impact on our team's success."
A senior graduate from Chesapeake, Virginia, Lynch to this point has started all 13 games in the midfield this year for the Monarchs, registering two goals and six assists.
Sunday, Lynch will celebrate Senior Day with two of her teammates, Cam MacGillivray and Brooke Gasser ahead of the 12 p.m. start time against VCU.
