About ODU
The Monarchs (8-11, 3-3 SBC) split their conference series with Coastal Carolina last week. Teresa Atilano eclipsed 2,000 career assists as ODU opened the weekend with a 3-1 victory at the ODU Volleyball Center. However, the Chanticleers took the second meeting in four sets on Saturday.
Myah Conway is ODU's leader in kills (210) and points (254) and is second on the team in blocks (60). Ashley Peroe is next in kills with 123 and Bailey Burgess is close behind her with 115. Atilano also surpassed 500 assists for the season last week and currently sits at 578. She has also served a team-best 31 aces and ranks fourth in the conference with 0.45 aces per set. Jamie Bissmeyer has dug 215 balls this season and Anna Burkhardt has the second-most digs with 118. Burgess has recorded a team-high 73 blocks while Hailey Duncan owns 53.
ODU is currently tied for fourth place in the league's East Division with App State. James Madison and CCU are atop the division at 7-1 and Georgia Southern is ahead of the Monarchs with a 4-2 mark against conference opponents.
The team also goes into the series ranked third in the Sun Belt in aces per set (1.69), blocks per set (2.41) and team total blocks (169).
About Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns (9-8, 3-5 Sun Belt) are looking to snap a four-match skid. After a pair of straight-set losses to Texas State on Oct. 7-8, Louisiana dropped its first match at South Alabama last Thursday, 3-0. The team won the opening set of its second matchup with the Jaguars but came up short in the next three sets.
Kelsey Bennett and Lauryn Hill have scored 176 and 102 kills, respectively to pace the attack. Reka Kotorman and Siena DeCambra have split primary setter duties with Kotorman owning 352 assists and DeCambra at 287. The pair are also Louisiana's top servers with 13 aces each, while Coco Gillett is right behind the duo with 12 aces. On the defensive side of the net, Gillett paces the back row with 214 digs and Bennett follows with 174. Cami Hicks is the go-to option at the net with 73 blocks.
Louisiana is currently fifth in the Sun Belt's West Division. Texas State and South Alabama are tied for the division lead at 7-1 and Troy is third at 6-2.
The Ragin' Cajuns rank second in the Sun Belt with 2.48 blocks per set and are fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.182) and team attacks per set (34.83).
