PHILADELPHIA – Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson has been added to the Bednarik Award Watch List, The Maxwell Football Club announced on Tuesday.
Henderson leads the country with 90 tackles and in tackles per game with 15. He has recorded double-digits in tackles in each of the first six games for the Monarchs this season, highlighted by a school record 21 in the win over Arkansas State. He was named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week after the season-opening win over Virginia Tech.
A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson had 10 tackles in ODU's 49-21 win over Coastal Carolina last Saturday.
Henderson and the Monarchs host Georgia Southern for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m.
