NORFOLK, VA. – The No. 14 Old Dominion Field Hockey (11-2, 4-1) team extended their win streak to six with an 8-0 win over Queens on Sunday. Sacha De Gier, Aubrey Mytych and Delphine Le Jeune each scored two goals in the victory.

ODU got on the board when Le Jeune converted a penalty stroke just under three minutes into the game. Two minutes later De Gier took a pass from Marlon de Bruijne and slotted it into the goal, giving the Monarch's a 2-0 advantage.

Mytych scored the first of three goals for Old Dominion in the second quarter when she dribbled the ball past a defender and fired a rocket into the back of the net. Le Jeune scored her second goal of the day when she was assisted on a penalty corner by Frederique Zandbergen. ODU scored their third goal of the quarter when de Bruijne fired a missile to put the Monarch's up 5-0 at the half.

De Gier scored her second goal of the match and fourth of the weekend just six minutes into the third quarter. Sidney Synder scored her first career goal when de Bruijne passed a ball in, Snyder took the ball and ripped it into the back of the net. Mytych scored her second goal of the game three minutes into the fourth quarter. Mytych has scored nine goals in the past six games for the Monarch's.

"We played much better in the second half; we had some goals, but we weren't really playing together as much as we wanted to. I was overall very happy with the weekend in general," said Head Coach Andrew Griffths. "We are scoring goals from a lot of different people but if we can tighten up defensively it will be a better situation for us. It has been getting stronger and our covering is better when we are trying to figure out what teams are trying to do and how they want to attack."

ODU earned their second straight shutout of the weekend. They outshot Queens 25-3 on the day.

Old Dominion is back in action Friday, Oct. 21 when they travel to take on Temple at 2 p.m.
