NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team visits another nationally-ranked opponent on Saturday night as they'll tangle with fourth-ranked Marshall at 7:15 p.m.
Old Dominion (4-4-2, 1-1-1) enters after a tough 4-0 loss at home to West Virginia last Saturday night. Tristan Jenkins leads ODU in scoring with five goals and is tied for fifth in the conference. He's also tied for eighth in points and points per game. Freshman Michael Statham is third in goals against average at 0.87.
Marshall (7-1-2, 2-0-2) comes into the match after defeating South Carolina 3-1 last Saturday night. The Thundering Herd are currently second in the Sun Belt with eight points, only trailing second-ranked Kentucky. Marshall has the top two goal scorers in the conference as Matthew Bell leads with eight and Milo Yosef is tied for second with seven.
The Monarchs have lost three of the last four meetings between the teams with the last ODU win coming in 2017 when the Monarchs won a 1-0 match in the Conference USA Tournament.
ODU returns home to host South Carolina on October 19 at 7 p.m.
