Norfolk, Va. – The No. 14 ranked Old Dominion Field Hockey team will welcome the 11th ranked University of Connecticut Huskies on Friday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. This will mark the first conference matchup for the Monarch's.

ODU continues to win with another weekend sweep extending their win streak to five matches now. On Friday, Sept 9 the Monarchs defeated Columbia, 3-0. Marlon de Bruijne led the way scoring two goals in the contest. de Bruijne's performance earned her BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Honors. Old Dominion then traveled to Richmond on Sunday, Sept. 11 and defeated the Spiders 2-1. Courtney Lynch found the back of the net with 25 seconds left in the third period. That proved to be enough as ODU held on to that lead. Frederique Zandbergen leads the team in assists with six, while de Bruijne leads the team in points (12) and goals (6).
UConn is coming off a 4-3 overtime victory against No. 24 Delaware last weekend. For the Huskies, Mckenna Sergi leads the team in points (5) and goals (2). UConn has two players tied for the team lead in assists at two.
