Melichova Named VaSID Co-Player Of The Year

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion women's golfer Jana Melichova wrapped up her stellar career by being named Co-Player of the Year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) on its 2022 University Division Women's Golf All-State team announced recently.
 
Melichova just concluded her career with a stellar postseason run this spring. She began her postseason tying for third at the Conference USA Championship and earning First Team All-Conference honors.
 
Following that, she received an at-large bid to the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional where she also tied for third to move onto the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. At the NCAA's, Melichova shot a four-over 292 to tie for 13th to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
 
She earned VaSID recognition in each of her four years, with three First Team selections. Melichova was named Rookie of the Year in 2019, Player of the Year in 2020, Second Team honors in 2021 and Co-Player of the Year in 2022.
 
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
