John Morton Receives Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship

IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion long snapper John Morton was ODU's recipient of the Jim Castaneda Postgraduate Scholarship, C-USA announced on Thursday.
 
Every season, C-USA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Conference USA Board of Directors.
 
Morton posts a 3.88 GPA with a major in civil engineering with a minor in construction, engineering management and environmental engineering. A three-time C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal Recipient he has made Dean's List every semester.  
 
A native of Ashburn, Virginia, Morton played in all 13 games in 2021 as ODU's long snapper on punts, and the holder on extra points and field goals. He recovered a fumble in the game at Liberty.
