TOWSON, Md. – The 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship begins on Wednesday, June 29 and four former Old Dominion players are set to coach in the event. Maggi Buckley and Shelby Davis are assistant coaches for Scotland, Erica Erb is the head coach of Wales, and Denise Roessler is the head coach of Germany.
 
Roessler is a 1995 graduate of ODU and was named the head coach of Germany in 2020. She was the head coach at Bryn Athyn (Pa.) for six years and prior to that was the head coach of St. Joseph's for 16 seasons. 
 
Buckley was a goalie for the Monarchs from 2014-17 and ranks fourth in school history with 468 career saves. Davis was a four-year starter for ODU from 2010-13 starting in 64 games in here four-year career.
 
Erb, like Davis, was a defender and led ODU in caused turnovers in 2008. A 2009 ODU graduate, Erb joined the Welsh team as an assistant coach before being named the head coach.

Germany and Wales face off against each other to begin the tournament on June 30, while Scotland opens against the United States on July 1.
