Bell Named to Conference USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion senior shortstop Tommy Bell was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, C-USA announced on Monday.
 
Bell has started 42 games at shortstop this season and is hitting .267 with six home runs and 24 RBIs. He has 43 hits, 10 doubles and has been hit by a team-best 10 pitches. He holds the ODU career record for hit by pitches with 50. For his career, he has a .285 batting average with 22 home runs and 38 doubles.
 
Bell earned his undergraduate degree in geography with a 3.88 GPA and is working towards a master's degree in secondary education. He earned Dean's List, C-USA Honor Roll and the C-USA Academic Medal every semester at ODU.
 
Bell and the Monarchs take on Middle Tennessee in the Conference USA Tournament on Wednesday, May 25 at 10 a.m. EDT.
