NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion baseball team will conclude its home schedule this weekend hosting Marshall for a three-game series. Game one will be Friday night at 6 p.m., with game two on Saturday at 3 p.m. The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Special Ceremonies
Due to being on the road last weekend at Southern Mississippi, a total of 12 baseball players missed graduation exercises. They will be honored on Saturday with a special graduation ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
On Sunday at 12:30 p.m., nine seniors will be honored for playing their last regular-season games at the Bud Metheny Ballpark for Senior Day.
Around The Horn – ODU
Old Dominion (31-15, 13-11) received another terrific start from Blake Morgan and great efforts from Nick Pantos and Jacob Gomez on Saturday to win a big series at Southern Miss last weekend. Morgan's scoreless streak ended at 26.2 innings, but he gave up just one run in seven innings and to lift ODU to a 4-1 win Friday. Pantos and Gomez held USM down on Saturday for a 4-3 win.
The Monarchs boast three of the top-30 home run hitters in the nation. Matt Coutney is tied for second in the country with 23, Andy Garriola is tied for seventh with 19, and Carter Trice is tied for 27th in the nation with 16.
ODU leads Conference USA and is second in the country with 100 home runs. ODU set the single-season school record last year with 105. That total included games from the C-USA Tournament and NCAA Regionals.
Coutney leads C-USA in homers and slugging percentage (.820) and is third in average at .360 and runs scored with 53. Garriola leads the league and is tied for fourth in the country with 64 RBIs.
Morgan (6-0) is the Division I leader in ERA (0.68).

Around The Horn - Marshall
Luke Edwards leads Marshall in most categories including average (.347), hits (68), runs scored (40), RBIs (45), home runs (11) and slugging percentage (.571).
On the mound, Jeffrey Purnell leads Marshall with a 5-4 record and a 4.37 ERA. He's struck out a team high 70 in 68.0 innings.
Ryan Leitch joins Edwards as the lone hitters over .300 on the team as he's batting .304 with a team high 14 doubles.
Marshall (20-26-1, 9-15) enters having lost six of its last seven games. They lost two of three at UTSA and were swept by Charlotte in its last two C-USA weekends.

The Monarchs hit the road for a swing that will run through the Conference USA Tournament. It will start in Lexington, Va. with a Tuesday, May 17 matchup with the VMI Keydets. Two days later, they'll begin the final series of the regular season at Western Kentucky.
