Men’s Golf Finishes up at Donald Ross Collegiate Classic

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Old Dominion men's golf team finished 13th at the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic at the par-72, 6,633-yard Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
 
Jakob Henriksson was the low competitor for the Monarchs, finishing tied for 28th with an 8-over-par score of 224. Henriksson saved his best for last with a 1-under 71 in the third round. The sophomore was 4-over after three holes but then caught fire. He finished up the front nine with four birdies before adding two more on the inward nine. Henriksson's 11 birdies at the event were the most on the team.
 
Jakob Chicoyne bounced back from an opening-round 78 to post back-to-back 74s to finish tied for 39th at 226 (+10). Like Henriksson, Gustav Fransson shot his low round of the tournament on Tuesday, carding an even-par 72. Fransson posted a three-round score of 227 and finished with a share of 44th place.
 
Rasmus Konradsson tied for 49th at 228, and Mason McCoy finished 91st. Competing as an individual, Kazuki Yamauchi tied for 85th.
 
Seton Hall won the team competition by four strokes, finishing with a three-day score of 873 (+9). Elon placed second at 13-over 877, and Richmond placed third at 882 (+18).
 
North Carolina's Kenan Poole and Princeton's William Huang shared medalist honors at 6-under 210. Brandon Berry missed out on a three-way tie for first by a single shot and placed third at 211.
 
The Monarchs conclude a long stretch of golf at the Southern Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday.
