NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University sailing placed eighth in a loaded field at the Aaron Szambecki Team Race over the weekend. The Monarchs took ninth at the Hanbury Trophy.
In the Szambecki Team Race, ODU skippers were Bridget Groble, Parker Purrington, Jack Glenn and Rider Odom. Jefferson Elkin, Makalynne Dyer, Isabelle Kanach, Ethan Tutt, Finn Ciszewski, Glenn, Katherine Barton and Allison Jeanne Volk were crew.
ODU was 4-8 in races, defeating Yale twice, Georgetown and Jacksonville.
At the Hanbury Trophy, the Division A team of Elizabeth Gildea, Megan Geith and Tyler Bissell had seven top-10 finishes.
The Division B duo of Ian Slayter and Alivia Markham featured a fifth-place finish.
ODU will compete in the MAISA Women's Team Race next weekend.
