NORFOLK, Va. -- The 60th-ranked Old Dominion men's tennis team will host a pair of matches this weekend at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

On Saturday, the Monarchs will host the 48th-ranked Penn Quakers for a 1 p.m. start, while on Sunday, the Monarchs will have another Conference USA match hosting the Blazers of UAB at 11 a.m.

"Penn is a legit At-large contender and established themselves as an elite team after wins already over Washington, Wisconsin and Penn State," said ODU Head Coach Dominik Mueller.  "We are excited for this challenge."

The Monarchs have won five in a row and are 9-4 on the year after defeating Rice 4-0 in the conference opener Wednesday. Luca Maldoner leads the Monarchs with a 9-3 record and has won six matches in a row, while Younes Lalami is 7-5 and has won five in a row. In doubles, Francois Le Tallec and Codie van Schalkwyk are 5-0 to lead ODU.

Penn won a pair of matches in California last week on a spring break trip defeating Washington 4-3 and San Diego State 6-1. The Quakers scored a 4-0 win over Penn State in late February.

Harish Parika leads Penn with 10 wins this spring, while Aditya Gupta has nine in singles. In doubles, the duo of Edoardo Graziani and Jason Hildebrandt lead Penn with a 7-1 mark.

UAB, who will face William & Mary before heading to Norfolk, is currently 6-9 and 1-0 in C-USA play. The Blazers saw a three-match winning streak snapped last week with losses to Troy (5-2) and Georgia Southern (6-1).  Michael Lusovsky leads them in singles with a 9-5 mark at the number one line, while Roman Postolka and Nikola Puric lead the Blazers with a 4-4 mark in doubles.
