NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's golf team rounds out a stretch of three events in three weeks at the Southern Invitational, this Monday and Tuesday at The Falls Club in Lake Worth, Florida. Live scoring for the event is available on Golfstat.
The tournament field features 28th-ranked Ohio State, fellow Conference USA member Florida Atlantic and in-state rival James Madison. Teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The Monarchs start on holes 10-13 alongside Temple and JMU.
The Monarchs are coming off a 13th-place showing at the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic. Jakob Henriksson shot a final-round 71 (-1) to finish tied for 28th at 8-over 224. Jakob Chicyone put together back-to-back rounds of 74 to close out the tournament inside the top-40.
ODU opened last season at the Southern Invitational and finished fifth. Henriksson tied for seventh in his first collegiate event, carding a 4-under 212. Gustav Fransson shot 1-under 215 and tied for 13th.
What's Next
ODU returns to the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate March 28-29. The Monarchs finished as runners-up at the event last year, and Henriksson ran away from the field for his first collegiate win.
