NORFOLK, Va. - The 33rd ranked Old Dominion women's tennis team ran its winning streak to five and homecourt winning streak to 32 with a pair of 7-0 wins over Kennesaw State and Norfolk State on Thursday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
 
With the win over Kennesaw State, ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla won his 150th career match as he now sports a 151-75 record.
 
Against Kennesaw State, the Monarchs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with wins at the top two doubles spots for that team point.  At number two, Alexandra Viktorovich and Shahar Biran won 6-1, while at number one, the duo of Yuliia Starodubtseva and Sofia Johnson won 6-2.
 
Singles saw ODU take every match in straight sets.  Starodubtseva, 33rdnationally in the most recent singles rankings, won 6-4, 6-0 at number one over Katherine Muzik.  Alexandra Viktorovich, ranked 72ndnationally, won 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 over Taylor Dean at number two and Marina Alcaide took a 6-4, 7-5 win at number three over Ji Youn Lee.
 
Sofia Johnson won 6-2, 6-1 at number four over Valentina Taddia and Alesya Yakubovich scored a 6-1, 7-5 win at number five over Sophia Unger.  Ralitsa Alexandrova finished off the win at number six with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sofia Pinedo.
 
In the nightcap against Norfolk State, ODU took the doubles point as the tandems of Starodubtseva and Viktorovich along with the duo of Johnson and Alcaide each won 6-0 at numbers two and three respectively.
 
Singles saw Starodubtseva win over Aleksandra Evdokimova at number one 6-0, 6-3, while Johnson won 6-1, 6-0 over Amber Fuller at number two.  Alcaide defeated Breana Cook 6-0, 6-0 at number three and Yakubovich won 6-1, 6-4 over Laura Ruiz at number four.   Biran scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Andrea Barcenas at number five, while Alexandrova took a 6-0, 6-0 win at number six over Niya Grant.
 
ODU (10-5) is now off until Mar. 24 when they start a three-match road weekend at Navy.
