NORFOLK, Va. – Delphine Le Jeune of the Old Dominion field hockey team was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by league officials on Tuesday.

With less than three minutes remaining in regulation and a tied match at No. 24 James Madison, Old Dominion junior Le Jeune (Ghent, Belgium) scored her second goal in as many games to lift the No. 18 Monarchs to a 3-2 win over the Dukes. Le Jeune was part of a defensive midfield that held JMU to just eight shots, seven on goal.

Le Jeune also had a goal and an assist in ODU's 3-2 overtime victory over American.

Le Jeune and the Monarchs will play host to Longwood this Friday, September 10, for a 5 p.m. start at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
