NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team returns to the ODU Soccer Complex to take on VCU at 7 p.m.
ODU (2-2-1, 0-0-1 C-USA) is coming off a 1-1 tie against Coastal Carolina in its first Conference USA game on Saturday. The Monarchs were led on offense by Eliot Goldthorp who scored the lone goal and Eamon McLaughlin who had two shots and one assist. Ettore Casadei recorded nine shots, two on goal, and Liam Fisch recorded three shots, two on goal. Old Dominion led in shots (18-10) and in corner kicks (11-2).
VCU (3-2-1, 0-1-0 A-10) is coming off a 2-1 loss to Rhode Island in double overtime in its first A-10 conference game on Saturday. Damian Gallegos scored the lone goal for the Rams. Celio Pompeu had six shots, one on goal, and Ethan Manheim had four shots, one on goal. VCU started its season beating No. 7/6 Wake Forest and No. 24 Charlotte, falling to No. 19 FIU, and drawing No. 4 UNC.
The last time ODU and VCU played was in 2019 when the Monarchs won 3-1 in Norfolk at the ODU Soccer Complex.
