WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team broke a scoreless tie with six minutes remaining in regulation on a Megan Watts tally to earn a 1-0 victory at William & Mary on Thursday night.

"We are delighted with this win. It was a really exciting game which went end to end for long parts of the game. They were tough and we really had to step up and compete first and foremost".

ODU (2-1) secured the win in the last six minutes of the game. Watts was able to find the back right corner of the goal off of a cross from Ryan Parncutt.

The Monarchs controlled the majority of the game, outshooting the Tribe (1-2) 10-3 in the first half and 5-2 in the second. Jasmine Crawley was able to keep a clean sheet for all 90 minutes, including making two saves in the first half.

"It's small margins in games like these and I'm proud of our team for finding a way to get the win. In the end, a well-earned shutout."

Old Dominion will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. when the Monarchs host VCU. ODU will play again at home on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. against Richmond.
