RICHMOND, Va. – The Old Dominion (13-4) baseball team took down Richmond, 4-3 on Saturday afternoon to remain unbeaten on the road this season. Freshman Carter Trice delivered a two-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to tie up the ball game, 3-3. Andy Garriola then capitalized off a Richmond (5-4) wild pitch in the fifth to take a 4-3 advantage the rest of the way.

"It was a good ball game. Both teams pitched well," ODU head coach Chris Finwood said. "Trice had a big home run for us and we got some big double plays down the stretch. After being rained out Friday, it was nice to get back out and get a win on the road. I thought Richmond's freshman lefty Jeremy Neff was very good today."

ODU got out in front of the Spiders, scoring a run by way of a Tommy Bell single in the top of the second inning. Richmond responded in the bottom of the frame with a three-run double from Chris Rinaldi. The Spiders led, 3-1 until Trice smacked his fifth home run of the season and Garriola added the decisive run in the fifth.

Bell led the ODU offense, going 3-for-4, highlighted by his first inning RBI. Bell recorded his fifth multi-hit game of the season.

Junior Ryne Moore picked up his third win of the season, fanning two batters in 2.2 innings of work. Moore was followed by Hunter Gregory and Nick Pantos, who combined for five innings and six strikeouts. Pantos earned the save for ODU.
