NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's basketball team concludes nonconference play on Wednesday with a noon tip at Temple. The Monarchs are looking to push their winning streak to eight games. Wednesday's game is streaming live on ESPN+ ($) with the radio broadcast being carried on ESPN Radio 94.1 FM.

The Starting Five
The Monarchs are winners of their past seven games, their longest win streak under head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones. During this run, ODU is outscoring opponents by nearly 23 points per game, shooting 44.6 percent from the floor, averaging 15.4 assists and turning over the competition 24.0 times.

ODU's last win came at Appalachian State, 85-49 on Saturday. The Monarchs scored the first 12 points of the game, shot 87.5 percent in the first quarter and never looked back. ODU set season highs in points, field goal percentage (54.7) and 3-point field goal percentage (57.1) against the Mountaineers.

Iggy Allen (23) and Ajah Wayne (21) both had 20-point outings at App State. Allen set a season high in scoring while going 10-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-4 from deep. Wayne made seven of her 12 shot attempts and also went 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Wayne passed the 1,100-point plateau on Saturday and is now 28th in all-time scoring at ODU (1,105).

The Monarchs are one of the tightest defensive units in the country this year. ODU enters Tuesday ranked sixth nationally and first in C-USA in scoring defense (49.1). The Monarchs are 23rd in field goal percentage defense (.339) and 19th in 3-point field goal percentage defense (.238). ODU is turning teams over 22.45 times per game (14th in DI) while averaging the 16th-most steals per game (12.4) in the country.

On Feb. 19, the Monarchs lost a 74-61 home game to UAB, dropping to 6-9 overall and 3-8 in Conference USA. ODU responded with 37-point win over UAB the following day, starting a run of seven wins over the last nine games of the season. The Monarchs are a combined 16-4 (.800) since the Feb. 19 loss to UAB. ODU's 16 wins are tied with Rice for the most by a C-USA team over that span, and no team in C-USA can match ODU's .800 win percentage since Feb. 19.

Scouting Temple
The Owls enter Wednesday at 5-5 having lost their past two games to Saint Joseph's (73-63) and Northwestern (68-58).

Mia Davis led Temple in scoring at Northwestern with 16 points and chipped in eight rebounds. Davis passed the 2,000-point plateau in the loss.

The Preseason American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Davis leads the team and is third in the conference with 16.4 points per game. She also is tops on the team with 7.8 rebounds and a .504 (64-127) shooting percentage. Jiselle Thomas (10.4) is the only other Owl to average more than 10 points a game.

Jasha Clinton pulls the strings for Temple, averaging 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game, both first on the team. Clinton ranks third in the AAC in assists per game and sixth in the conference in steals per game.
