NORFOLK, Va. – Former Old Dominion University swimmer Katie Ellett and senior swimmer Noah Wilkins earned the Academic Excellence Award from the 1A FAR Board. The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award is awarded to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of a 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA Intercollegiate athletics at a FBS institution.
Ellett graduated Old Dominion with a degree in sport management and was named to the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll and received the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal. She was a four-year letterwinner for the swimming program.
Wilkins earned his degree in nuclear medicine technology and also received the C-USA Academic Honor Roll recognition as well as the Commissioner's Academic Medal. In 2021, he was named the CCSA (Coastal Collegiate Sports Association) Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He won the 100 freestyle at the CCSA Championships and placed second in the 50 freestyle.
