NORFOLK, Va. – All Old Dominion University students are invited to the Monarch Hoop Fest – an exciting night of basketball, giveaways and live music from DJ Julian Rivera –this Friday at the ODU Volleyball Center inside the Jim Jarrett Athletic Administration Building. This student-only event begins after the conclusion of the 6 p.m. volleyball match with FIU, and early attendance is encouraged as space is limited. Students can secure their spot for the basketball event and their free t-shirt voucher by attending the volleyball match. Student admission to the volleyball match and Monarch Hoop Fest is free for students with their university ID card.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year. Basketball season is approaching, and we are extremely excited about it," women's basketball head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones said. "We are looking forward to kicking off the season with the Monarch Hoop Fest! We want our student body to know that they're our sixth man, and we can't wait to see them and celebrate the opening of our season together."
The Monarch Hoop Fest gives students the opportunity to see the 2021-22 men's and women's basketball teams in action. The Monarchs will showcase their skills in a variety of competitions, including a 3-point contest and a half-court shootout, with a dance-off to finish the night.
"This is the first Monarch Hoop Fest event since I have been at Old Dominion, so we are looking to have fun with it," said ODU head men's basketball coach Jeff Jones. "Our guys can't wait to interact with the students."
Each student in attendance will receive a voucher for a free ODU t-shirt and will have the chance to win great prizes throughout the event, including official men's and women's basketball team gear and $500 in dining bucks. Free food, including a slice of pizza and a bottled water, will be provided to all students in attendance.
Men's basketball hosts Gannon for an exhibition game on Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. before starting the regular season at home against Virginia Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. tip on Nov. 10. The women's basketball team welcomes Christopher Newport for a 6:30 p.m. exhibition on Nov. 1 and starts the regular season against South Carolina State at Chartway Arena on Nov. 9. at 6:30 p.m.

Men's and women's basketball season tickets for the upcoming 2021-22 season are available now at ynottix.com.
Men's basketball season tickets cost $215 and include tickets for the Monarchs' exhibition on Nov. 6 and all 14 of ODU's regular season home games. Women's basketball season tickets cost $115 for adults and $250 for courtside seating and include tickets to all 15 of the Monarchs' home games. Special pricing is available for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, and members of the military. Call the ODU Ticket Office at 757-683-4444 to receive special pricing. New this season, fans can select season tickets for men's games in section 108 for the promotional price of $110. For women's games, fans can select season tickets from sections 107, 108, and 109 for the price of $75.
Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game tickets for regular season men's and women's basketball games will go on sale later in the. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
