NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's soccer team returns to play on Sunday afternoon at the ODU Soccer Complex to take on the defending College Cup National Champions, Marshall. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on CUSA T.V.
Old Dominion (2-4-1, 0-0-2 C-USA) is coming off a 3-0 loss at Florida Atlantic on Saturday night. Captain Josh Thacker recorded three of ODU's four shots. Djibril Doumbia made six saves on the night.
For ODU, Ettore Casadei and Elliot Goldthorp are tied for seventh in C-USA in shots. Eli Carr is also tied ninth in C-USA rankings for assists. Doumbia is in a three-way tie for fifth in shutouts.
Marshall (5-1-3, 0-0-2 C-USA) is coming off a 2-0 win against Butler on Wednesday night. Pedro Dolabella led the Herd offense with three shots and two goals. Milo Yosef recorded three shots and one assist while Vinicius Fernandes had two assists. Senior goalkeeper Oliver Semmle completed four saves in 90 minutes while achieving his third clean sheet of the season.
The last time ODU and Marshall played was in March of 2021 when the Monarchs and the Herd tied 1-1 after double overtime in West Virginia.
