NORFOLK, Va. - The No. 21 nationally ranked Old Dominion field hockey team returns home to host Quinnipiac on Friday, September 24 at 1 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. The Monarchs will then travel to Charlottesville for a showdown against No. 11 Virginia on Sunday, September 26 at University Hall Turf Field at 1 p.m. Friday's game will stream on Monarch Media, while Sunday afternoon's contest will stream on ACC Network Extra.
 
Old Dominion has won four of its last five matches but is coming off a 2-0 loss at No. 16 UConn in the BIG EAST opener. Cam MacGillivray currently ranks 30th in the NCAA for her 1.64 goals against average, while teammate Delphine Le Jeune ranks 38th in the country for assists per game (0.50). Le Jeune currently leads ODU with seven points (two goals and three assists), while Marlon de Bruijne follows with six points (three goals). For the season, the Monarchs hold a 35-20 advantage over their opponents for penalty corners taken.
 
Quinnipiac comes to Norfolk seeking its first win of the season after starting the year 0-6. The Bobcats are coming off a 2-0 loss against Hofstra in Hempstead, New York. Quinnipiac was picked to finish seventh in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll. Old Dominion faced Quinnipiac last season in a game that the Monarchs won 3-0 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.  
 
Virginia enters the weekend winners of five of its last six matches and is coming off a 2-1 road victory at No. 24 Ohio State. The Cavaliers are allowing just 0.85 goals against per game, which is sixth best in the nation. UVA averages 8.43 penalty corner attempts per outing, which is the sixth most in the NCAA so far this season. Goalie Tyler Kennedy is allowing just 0.47 goals per game, which ranks third in the country. Head coach Michele Madison is in the midst of her 16th season in Charlottesville and has led UVA to 12 NCAA Tournament berths, including national semifinals appearances in 2009, 2010 and 2019, and winning the first ACC title in program history in 2016.
