NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team was unable to find the net losing 2-0 against VCU on Thursday night at the ODU Sports Complex.

Leading 1-0, VCU (4-1) caught ODU (2-2) on its heels in the 49th minute and scored its second goal from just inside the six-yard box coming from cross from the left side. From then on VCU controlled the tempo of the game regardless of ODU's efforts to get on the board.

As VCU sent the ball across the 18-yard box, a Monarch would misdirect a header leading to a VCU goal just before the whistle for halftime.

Despite the score, the Monarchs dominated majority of the game outshooting VCU 13-7 and having more corner opportunities 5-3. ODU was led in shots by Ece Turkoglu and Megan Watts with three goals each, while Morgan Hall had two.

Old Dominion will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. when the Monarchs host Richmond.
