Carter Trice Earns D1Baseball Freshman All-America Honor

Carter Trice

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion second baseman Carter Trice was named a first-team D1Baseball Freshman All-American, marking the fifth time this post-season Trice has earned a Freshman All-America honor.

Trice started and played in 58 games in 2021, starting four at third base and 54 at second base. He led ODU in batting average at .355, hits with 83, doubles with 17 and in total bases with 148.

The Conference USA Freshman of the Year and first-team All-C-USA representative, Trice finished in the top-20 among the nation's freshman in eight categories, including fourth in total bases, sixth in hits and seventh in runs scored with 57.

Trice helped the Monarchs to a 44-16 record and a Conference USA Championship. ODU ranked No. 16 in the final top-25 polls, its highest ranking in the final polls.

A native of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Trice is currently playing with the USA Collegiate National Team.
