NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion baseball starting pitcher Ryne Moore was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
The right-hander improved to 5-1, throwing a complete game shutout over No. 15 Charlotte in the Monarchs' series finale on Sunday. Against the 49ers, the Limerick, Pennsylvania native fanned seven batters, allowing just four hits in 7.0 innings of work. His seven strikeouts on Sunday matched a season-high.
For the season, Moore owns a 3.16 ERA, going a team-high 57.0 innings. The junior has struck out 55 batters, holding opposing hitters to a .249 batting average in his 10 appearances on the mound.
Moore also earned a spot on DI Baseball's Top Performers from Sunday.
ODU baseball has had three different student-athletes earn C-USA weekly honors in 2021. Carter Trice has earned C-USA Hitter of the Week laurels twice, while starting pitcher Hunter Gregory earned Pitcher of the Week accolades in April.
