NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team lost 19-2 to hosts Vanderbilt in an American Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. Danielle Dundas and Corrinne Stratton notched one goal each for the Monarchs.

"Vanderbilt was a very athletic and fast team," head coach Heather Holt said. "We never gave up today, but we have a lot to work on at both ends of the field. We wish Vanderbilt well throughout the rest of their season."

The Commodores (11-2, 6-0 American) opened the day on a 5-0 scoring run. Dundas halted the run at the 6:59 mark with her 12th goal of the season off an assist from Lilly Siskind. From there, ODU (3-10, 1-5) held Vanderbilt to just one more goal in the first half to make the margin 6-1 at halftime. Elizabeth Scarrone found the back of the net with 4:34 remaining in the first half to break a scoring drought of nine-plus minutes for VU.

A midfielder from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Dundas now ranks third on the team with 12 goals and is fourth with 33 points. Dundas also collected a game-high four draw controls to bring her season tally up to 31 – second-most on the team.

Vanderbilt broke the game open with a 9-0 scoring run to kick off the second half. Stratton added an unassisted marker with 11:48 remaining on the clock for her ninth goal of the season.

Brianna Blatter started in goal for the Monarchs and made 11 saves while also leading the team with three ground balls. Maria Rekus and Malissa Beall each had two ground balls as well. Amber Stieve set the game high with a personal-best three caused turnovers – her third game with multiple caused turnovers this season.

Griffin Gearhardt scored three goals for the Commodores and added an assist. Gabby Fornia found the back of the net twice and handed out five assists.

The Monarchs now enter a bye week before their last four games of the season. ODU plays at Cincinnati on April 16 and 18 before closing out their inaugural season in the American with home dates against Florida on April 23 and 25.
