To accommodate Monarch fans as a result of the difficult circumstances related to the pandemic, the ODU Athletics department is pleased to offer free admission to all ODU baseball games for the 2021 season. The Bud Metheny Baseball Complex will now welcome 750 fans on a first come, first served basis.

For the first time since 2017, ODU baseball is nationally ranked. They entered in the 22nd spot in this week's D1Baseball, USA Today, and NCBWA Top 25 Polls. The Monarchs are coming off a series win over Florida Atlantic, winning three of the four in Boca Raton. Chirs Finwood's Monarchs have won 12 of their last 14 games, and all three C-USA series, including the last two on the road. At the Bud, ODU owns a 13-5 mark.

The Monarch pitching staff has compiled 315 strikeouts and boasts a 3.73 ERA. Juniors Jason Hartline (0.84 ERA, 3-0) and Hunter Gregory (1.96 ERA, 4-0) were tabbed in D1 Baseball's Top 100 Pitchers, checking in at No. 31 and No. 68, respectively. As a club, ODU is hitting .300, led by freshman Carter Trice (.381, 43 H, 35 RBI, 9 HR), who was recently named to Baseball America's Freshman of the Year watch list.

Monarchs Support Pancreatic Cancer Awareness
Starting this weekend, and for the rest of the season, ODU baseball will show their support for the fight against pancreatic cancer by wearing purple ribbons on their batting helmets.
