SUNSET, S.C. – The Old Dominion women's golf team finished in a tie for 11th at the Clemson Invitational, held at the Reserve at Lake Keowee. ODU's final round 297 (+9) was its best round of the 54-hole event.
"We wish we could have kept playing because we were just starting to build positive momentum," said ODU head coach Mallory Hetzel. "We were very close to knocking off some top ranked teams. This is another step in the right direction for our team. We are looking forward to a couple of weeks of practice before our conference championship."
Leah Onosato and Jana Melichova both finished with a one-under 71 in the final round of the tournament. Onosato finished in a tie for 14th, picking up her fifth top-20 finish of the 2021 season as an individual on Sunday morning. Melichova posted her best round of the tournament and finished in a tie for 36th .
Senior Noemie Sudron put together a 77, Pilar Muguruza shot a 78 and freshman Elsie Verhoeven closed things out for ODU with a 79.

ODU will take a short break from competition before heading to the Conference USA Tournament at Lake Jovita Golf Club from April 19-21.
