NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University football wrapped up its third week of spring practice with its second scrimmage at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.

"I think we did some good things. We have to finish a few more drives on offense, but I thought the defense did a good job of buckling down when they need to, creating some plays when they needed to," ODU head coach Ricky Rahne said. "Overall, I was excited with the energy and execution."

The Monarchs have now completed nine practices this spring, including today's 66 play scrimmage that featured red zone and goal line drills.

"The overall energy of the guys and the belief in the system has been a huge thing that's stood out to me," Rahne said. "The other thing is the consistency. We're much more consistent than we were in the fall, we've got to continue to work on the little details to become explosive on offense and defense, TFL's and sacks on defense, big explosive plays on offense, but overall, the consistency is much improved."
