NORFOLK, Va. – Malik Curry (Wilmington, Delaware) of the Old Dominion men's basketball team was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 11 Second Team on Tuesday morning, as selected by NABC-member head coaches within NCAA Division I.
Curry started every game he played in for ODU this season and scored double figures in 19 of the 20 contests. Curry led the Monarchs in scoring, assists, steals, three-point percentage and free-throw percentage.
Within Conference USA, Curry ranked second for free-throw percentage (85.2% ranked 61st in the country), fourth for steals per game (1.85 ranked 59th in the NCAA), sixth for field goal percentage (45.6%), eighth for assists per game (3.6), ninth for points per game (15.7), 13th for assist to turnover ratio (1.18), as well as 15th for minutes played per game (32:24).
His seven steals against Rice (1/6/21) were the most by any player in the league this season. Curry poured in 20 or more points in a game a total of six times this season, which was tied for 10th most in the conference.
