MIAMI, Fla. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team (2-4-1, 1-2-0 C-USA) took down FIU (2-5-0, 0-2-0 C-USA) by a 2-0 score on Thursday afternoon at the FIU Soccer Stadium.

Morgan Hall's first goal of the season gave ODU a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute off an Emily Roberts assist.

Cami Johnstone made it a 2-0 Old Dominion lead in the 82nd minute off a pass from Megan Watts to seal the deal on ODU's first league victory of the season.

"I am so proud of our team today," said ODU head coach Angie Hind. "We needed the win and we gutted this one out. It wasn't the prettiest game for sure and it was hot out there today, but we talked about finding a way to get over the line and collectively we did just that. This victory gets us back on track and playing early we get to recover a little more before our next game."

For the match, the Monarchs held advantages for shots (15-12), as well as corners (7-5).

Old Dominion will return to the pitch on Friday, March 19, when the Soccer Monarchs welcome Florida Atlantic to the ODU Soccer Complex for a 7 p.m. start.
