NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women's tennis head coach Dominic Manilla announced the addition of Anastasia Sukhotina from Irkutsk, Russia to the Monarchs roster next Fall. Sukhotina has a career high WTA ranking of 607 and is currently ranked 745.
"We couldn't be happier for Anastasia to join our program," said Manilla. "She will be one the top recruits in the nation next fall. The consistent identification and signing of top recruits have been the lifeblood of our program. It is truly a program effort. We are confident that with the addition of Anastasia, our trajectory will continue."
Sukhotina, a left-hander, claimed victory at the ITF 15k in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in 2018. She currently boasts a career high UTR of 11.54.
Back in Dec. of 2020, Manilla added Sofia Johnson to the Monarchs roster for the 2021-22 season. Last October, Johnson became the No. 1 ranked 16-year-old in the United Kingdom.
The "Monarch Cutouts", presented by Chartway, are available for $59 and will be in attendance at all home matches for the 2021 season. Photos of the fan cutouts will be posted on social media throughout the season.
