NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion and ESPN Radio 94.1 have partnered together for Throwback Thursday Monarch Rewinds to air great ODU games of the past. This week's rewind is the 2011 FCS playoff game against Norfolk State.
"I've been here at the station for 21 of the 27-year partnership with ODU Sports. We are excited to bring back some nostalgic games to re-air for ODU fans and alumni to reminisce," said Keith Barton, Vice President and General Manager of Max Media of Hampton Roads. "We can't wait to get back to live sports and events here in Hampton Roads, but for the short term, I hope everyone enjoys some ODU Sports Radio!"
ODU play by play announcer Ted Alexander and football color analyst Andy Mashaw are on the call.
In the first postseason contest in ODU football history, the Monarchs were led by true freshman Taylor Heinicke's five touchdown passes. Norfolk State scored first but the Monarchs followed with 35-straight points to take command of the game.
