NORFOLK, Va. – ODU women's basketball (0-0) opens its 2020-21 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 28 at George Washington (1-0). Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. in the Charles E. Smith Center and will stream on ESPN+. Saturday afternoon's contest will air on ESPN Radio 94.1, with Doug Ripley's live pregame show beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. 
 
The contest marks DeLisha Milton-Jones' first game at the helm of the Monarch women's basketball program. Milton-Jones was introduced at the Monarchs eighth women's basketball head coach in program history on April 17, 2020.
 
Notables
- ODU returns three of four of its four double-figure scorers from last season's 24-6 team, which includes Victoria Morris (11.8), Ajah Wayne (10.7), Amari Young (10.6).
- The Monarchs were picked third in the C-USA Preseason Poll with two Monarchs in Ajah Wayne and Amari Young tabbed on the Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Last season, ODU compiled 24 wins, which marked the most wins for the ODU program since the 2007-08 season when ODU earned a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16. 
- ODU is 34-17 in all-time season openers.
- In season openers on the road, ODU is 8-10.

About the Colonials
George Washington is coming off a 53-38 win over Lincoln on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Redshirt junior Neila Luma recorded a double-double, putting up 16 points and 17 rebounds. The Colonials were selected to finish ninth in the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason poll. Last season they compiled a 14-16 overall mark and an 8-8 record in A-10 play.
