NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion lacrosse team is back in action on Wednesday, March 11 when it takes on Quinnipiac at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex at 1 p.m.
The Monarchs have suffered three straight defeats, including a 22-9 loss against No. 20 Richmond this past Saturday. Lilly Siskind netted two goals and Brooke Stein added a goal and an assist. Lindsey Baer, appearing in her first game this season, notched her first goal, while Glory Johnson added to her team lead with her 26th tally in the effort.
Johnson's 26 goals put her at 11th in all of Division I women's lacrosse, while her 37 total points are ranked 12th. She is also placed in the top-10 in draw controls per game, averaging 7.63, a mark that stands at ninth in the nation.
On the defensive side of the ball, Madison Corcoran leads the team with nine caused turnovers and has collected 10 ground balls. MAry Katherine Maloney and goalkeeper Sabrina Leatherwood each lead the Monarchs with 14 ground balls, while freshman midfielder Katie McGrain are on their tail with 12 ground ball pickups.
Brianna Blatter earned her second start of the season in Saturday's contest against the Spiders. She corralled 22 saves, the most by a Monarch goalie this season thus far, in the loss. Blatter has appeared in the last three games, stopping a total of 39 shots.
About Quinnipiac
The Bobcats are 2-4 through six games this season and went 1-1 in their two home contests last week. They dispatched winless Hartford, 16-9 and lost a tight 10-8 decision against Binghamton in their last game on Saturday.
Quinnipiac is led by senior Megan Szawlowski, who has 15 goals and 18 points this campaign. Two other Bobcats have double-digit point totals through the Bobcats' six games, as Desiree Kleberg and Gabby Beckett each have 11 points in a tie for second on the squad.
Allie Kelsey has started all six games in goal for the Bobcats, stopping 55 shots for a save percentage of .440.

Wednesday's meeting between the Monarchs and the Bobcats will be the first time these two programs have faced off against each other on the lacrosse field.
