NORFOLK, Va. - Sophomore Leah Onosato has been named C-USA Golfer of the Week as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon. This is Onosato's first weekly honor of her career.
Onosato notched a top-10 finish in the 90-player field at the Moon Golf Invitational hosted by Louisville this past week. With her 69 on Tuesday, Onosato recorded her best round this season, notching 13 birdies, good for second-most in the tournament field. The native of Japan also had her best career finish as a Monarch and her best 54-hole score in relation to par. Onosato finished ahead of 10 top-100 individuals with her 6th place finish, helping the team jump three spots from the second round to the third round.
Onosato and the Monarchs return to action on March 10 when they head to C-USA opponent UTSA to compete in the Maryb S. Kuath Invitational.
