NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion (16-3, 6-1 C-USA) women's basketball team hosts a pair of key Conference USA contests this weekend at the Chartway Arena. ODU welcomes Southern Miss on Thursday at 6:30 PM, before taking on the Lady Techsters on Saturday at 2 PM for the annual Alumni Game and National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
 
The Monarchs are 9-0 at home this season and have won 11 straight at the Chartway Arena dating back to last season.
 
Individually, Ajah Wayne continues to strong play, picking up her fourth double-double of the season in the Monarchs win over FIU last week. The Alabama native is pacing the Monarchs with 11.6 points per game. Victoria Morris (11.1 ppg) and Taylor Edwards (10.8 ppg) are also averaging double figures for ODU.
 
About Southern Miss
The Eagles enter the weekend having lost its last three contests. Southern Miss sits in eighth in the Conference USA standings. The Eagles currently lead the league in more steals, averaging 10.5 per game. Shonte Hailes paces the squad with 16.9 points per game, good for fourth in the league in scoring. USM's Amber Landing averaging 1.4 blocks per game, which is fifth-best in the league.

The Monarchs history runs deep with the Lady Techsters, having played each other 26 times in the past. The prior meetings feature two Monarch wins in the AIAW Tournament, including a 75-65 win in the 1979 Championship and a 73-59 win in the semifinals in 1980. LA Tech ultimately leads the all-time mark over the Monarchs by a 17-9 record. Currently, the Lady Techsters (10-8, 2-5 C-USA) are 11th in the C-USA standings heading into its Thursday evening game against Charlotte.
