MIAMI, Fla. – Coming off a 2-0 week in league play, the Old Dominion (14-3, 4-1 C-USA) women's basketball team will travel to the Sunshine State to take on FIU (4-13, 1-5 C-USA) on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 PM and Florida Atlantic (8-9, 2-4 C-USA) on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 PM. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+, a paid subscription service.
The Monarchs opened last week with a 76-65 win over WKU, which marked their first win over the Hilltoppers since joining the league in 2013-14. ODU then defeated Marshall, 57-46 on Saturday evening, which marked its third-straight game. Sophomore Ajah Wayne led the Monarchs in scoring during both contests, recording back-to-back double-doubles. Wayne's performance in both of ODU's wins led her to being named C-USA Co-Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Junior Victoria Morris continues to pace the Monarchs offensively, averaging 11.4 points per game. Amari Young leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.9 points per game.
About FIU
FIU is coming into the Thursday contest on a three-game losing streak following losses at UAB, Middle Tennessee and Rice. The Panthers have won four games so far this season, which is one game short of its overall record last season.
Junior Jiselle Thomas leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.9 points per game. Right behind her sits Chelsea Guimaraes, who is averaging 10.2 points per game. Defensively, Guimaraes also paces the Panthers in rebounding, averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. Head coach Tiara Malcom has been at the helm of the program since the 2016-17 season.
