NORFOLK, Va. - Ece Turkoglu (Istanbul, Turkey) of the Old Dominion women's soccer team was selected to participate in a training camp from Jan. 13-18th and a friendly match for the Women's A National Team of Turkey.

Turkoglu has previously been selected and competed in the U17 and U19 youth national teams of Turkey and has compiled over 64 appearance caps. Earlier today, Turkoglu and Turkey took down Malta in a friendly by a 2-1 score.

In November, Turkoglu was named the Conference USA Co-Freshman of the Year, as well as was named to the All-League Third Team and All-Freshman squad. She was also named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-South Region Team. Earlier this week, Turkoglu was named to the VaSID All-State Women's Soccer Second Team.

As a true freshman defensive midfielder, Turkoglu helped marshal the central midfield for ODU, while scoring two goals to go along with three assists for seven points (fifth on team). Over half her points came in league play. She had an assist against Marshall and UTSA and scored a goal against Middle Tennessee. She played over 1,200 minutes this past season and scored a goal on her first ever college shot in her first ever collegiate match.
